18th-century (c.1790) German Neoclassical commode, from the Westphalia region, likely from the workshop of the renowned cabinetmaker Bartscher in Rietberg. Lavishly decorated with marquetry in fine woods: maple, cherry, and plum. It features Greek-key geometric friezes and a central urn motif, showing strong Greco-Roman inspiration, in the style of the late 18th century. Retains its original handles and keyholes.
The traces of time are part of its beauty.
The piece is in good condition, having gracefully withstood the test of time. Like all antique pieces, it may show slight signs of use, patina, or small irregularities inherent to its history, features that enhance its authenticity and make it a unique object.
