Large 18th-century Florentine headboard, made of wood with polychromy and gilding. Its elegant frame, with a mixed-line silhouette and Baroque inspiration, features a large central panel upholstered in pink velvet. Its attractive patina also stands out, the result of the natural wear of the polychromy and gilding. The central panel can be easily removed and reupholstered, allowing the piece to be adapted to the project without altering its essence.
This type of bed headboard was part of the master bedroom furniture in aristocratic residences and Italian palazzi, where the bed was one of the main elements of the room. In 18th-century Florence, the artisanal and decorative tradition reached a special refinement, visible in the use of carved woods, polychromy, gilding, and rich fabrics.
*Only the headboard is for sale.
